116 / 248 page  TMP93CS40/TMP93CS41 2004-02-10 93CS40-114 3.8 8-Bit PWM Timers The TMP93CS40 and TMP93CS41 have two built-in 8-bit PWM timers (Timers 2 and 3). Each of these timers has two operating modes. • 8-bit PWM output mode • 8-bit interval timer mode Figure 3.8.1, Figure 3.8.2 are block diagram of 8-bit PWM timers 0 and 1 (Timers 2 and 3). PWM timers consist of an 8-bit up counter, 8-bit comparator, and 8-bit timer register. Two timer flip-flops (TFF2 for timer 2 and TFF3 for timer 3) are provided. Input clocks φP1, φP4, and φP16 for the PWM timers can be obtained using the 5-bit built-in prescaler (PWM dedicated prescaler). PWM timer operating mode and timer flip-flops are controlled by four control registers (P0MOD, P1MOD, PFFCR, and TRUN). PWM timers 0 and 1 can be used independently. All PWM timers operate in the same manner, and thus only the operation of PWM timer 0 will be explained below. |
