UCS81003
During power-on reset (POR), the default values are
stored in the registers. A POR is initiated when power
is first applied to the part and the voltage on the VDD
supply surpasses the VDD_TH level, as specified in the
electrical characteristics. Any reads to undefined
registers will return 00h. Writes to undefined registers
will not have an effect.
When a bit is “set”, this means that the user writes a
logic ‘1’ to it. When a bit is “cleared”, this means that the
user writes a logic ‘0’ to it.
10.1
Current Measurement Register
(Address 00h)
The
Current
Measurement
register
stores
the
measured current value delivered to the portable
device (IBUS). This value is updated continuously while
the device is in the Active power state. The bit weights
are in mA and the range is from 0 mA to 2988.6A (the
maximum value corresponds to 255 LSB, where
1LSB =11.72 mA).
This data will be cleared when the device enters the
Sleep or Detect states. This data will also be cleared
whenever the port power switch is turned off (including
during emulation or any time that VBUS is discharged).
10.2
Total Accumulated
Charge Registers
The Total Accumulated Charge registers store the total
accumulated charge delivered from the VS source to a
portable device. The bit weighting of the registers is
given in mAh. The register value is reset to 00_00h only
when the RTN_RST bit is set or if the RTN_EN bit is
cleared. This value will be retained when the device
transitions out of the Active state and resumes
accumulation if the device returns to the Active state
and charge rationing is still enabled.
These registers are updated every one (1) second
while the UCS81003 is in the Active power state. Every
time the value is updated, it is compared against the
target value in the Charge Rationing Threshold
registers
(see
Section 10.6
“Charge
Rationing
Threshold Registers”).
