It also performs interrupt arbi- tration, bus monitoring, and system test functions. MCU system protection includes a bus monitor, a HALT monitor, a spurious interrupt monitor, and a software watchdog timer. These functions have been made integral to the microcontroller to reduce the number of external components in a complete control system.
