Entering the IDLE0 Mode

ThereisonlyonewayforthedevicetoentertheIDLE0Modeandthatistoexecutethe“HALT”

instructionintheapplicationprogramwiththeIDLENbitinSMODregisterequalto“1”andthe

FSYSONbitinCTRLregisterequalto“0”.Whenthisinstructionisexecutedundertheconditions

describedabove,thefollowingwilloccur:

• Thesystemclockwillbestoppedandtheapplicationprogramwillstopatthe“HALT”instruction,

buttheTimeBaseclockfTBCandthelowfrequencyfSUBwillbeon.

• TheDataMemorycontentsandregisterswillmaintaintheirpresentcondition.

• TheWDTwillbeclearedandresumecounting.

• TheI/Oportswillmaintaintheirpresentconditions.

• Inthestatusregister,thePowerDownflag,PDF,willbesetandtheWatchdogtime-outflag,TO,

willbecleared.
