Periodic Type TM – PTM

ThePeriodicTypeTMcontainsfiveoperatingmodes,whichareCompareMatchOutput,Timer/

EventCounter,CaptureInput,SinglePulseOutputandPWMOutputmodes.ThePeriodicTMcan

alsobecontrolledwithanexternalinputpinandcandriveoneexternaloutputpin.

Periodic TM Operation

Atitscoreisa10-bitcount-upcounterwhichisdrivenbyauserselectableinternalorexternalclock

source.Therearetwointernalcomparatorswiththenames,ComparatorAandComparatorP.These

comparatorswillcomparethevalueinthecounterwiththeCCRAandCCRPregisters.

Theonlywayofchangingthevalueofthe10-bitcounterusingtheapplicationprogram,isto

clearthecounterbychangingtheT1ONbitfromlowtohigh.Thecounterwillalsobecleared

automaticallybyacounteroverfloworacomparematchwithoneofitsassociatedcomparators.

Whentheseconditionsoccur,aTMinterruptsignalwillalsousuallybegenerated.ThePeriodic

TypeTMcanoperateinanumberofdifferentoperationalmodes,canbedrivenbydifferentclock

sourcesincludinganinputpinandcanalsocontroltheoutputpin.Alloperatingsetupconditionsare

selectedusingrelevantinternalregisters.
