AlthoughthesimplestformofthetwoTMtypes,theCompactTMtypestillcontainsthreeoperating

modes,whichareCompareMatchOutput,Timer/EventCounterandPWMOutputmodes.The

CompactTMcanbecontrolledwithanexternalinputpinandcandrivetwoexternaloutputpins.

Atitscoreisa10-bitcount-upcounterwhichisdrivenbyauserselectableinternalorexternalclock

source.Therearealsotwointernalcomparatorswiththenames,ComparatorAandComparator

P.ThesecomparatorswillcomparethevalueinthecounterwithCCRPandCCRAregisters.The

CCRPisthreebitswidewhosevalueiscomparedwiththehighestthreebitsinthecounterwhilethe

CCRAisthetenbitsandthereforecompareswithallcounterbits.

Theonlywayofchangingthevalueofthe10-bitcounterusingtheapplicationprogram,isto

clearthecounterbychangingtheTnONbitfromlowtohigh.Thecounterwillalsobecleared

automaticallybyacounteroverfloworacomparematchwithoneofitsassociatedcomparators.

Whentheseconditionsoccur,aTMinterruptsignalwillalsousuallybegenerated.TheCompact

TypeTMcanoperateinanumberofdifferentoperationalmodes,canbedrivenbydifferentclock

sourcesincludinganinputpinandcanalsocontrolanoutputpin.Alloperatingsetupconditionsare

selectedusingrelevantinternalregisters.
