Atitscoreisa16-bitcount-upcounterwhichisdrivenbyauserselectableinternalorexternalclock

source.Therearealsotwointernalcomparatorswiththenames,ComparatorAandComparator

P.ThesecomparatorswillcomparethevalueinthecounterwithCCRPandCCRAregisters.The

CCRPis8-bitswidewhosevalueiscomparedwiththehighest8bitsinthecounterwhiletheCCRA

isthe16bitsandthereforecompareswithallcounterbits.

Theonlywayofchangingthevalueofthe16-bitcounterusingtheapplicationprogram,isto

clearthecounterbychangingtheT0ONbitfromlowtohigh.Thecounterwillalsobecleared

automaticallybyacounteroverfloworacomparematchwithoneofitsassociatedcomparators.

Whentheseconditionsoccur,aTMinterruptsignalwillalsousuallybegenerated.TheStandard

TypeTMcanoperateinanumberofdifferentoperationalmodes,canbedrivenbydifferentclock

sourcesincludinganinputpinandcanalsocontrolanoutputpin.Alloperatingsetupconditionsare

selectedusingrelevantinternalregisters.

Standard Type TM Register Description

OveralloperationoftheStandardTMiscontrolledusingsevenregisters.Areadonlyregisterpair

existstostoretheinternalcounter16-bitvalue,whilearead/writeregisterpairexiststostorethe

internal16-bitCCRAvalue.Theremainingtworegistersarecontrolregisterswhichsetupthe

differentoperatingandcontrolmodes.
