EachoftheTMs,irrespectiveofwhattype,hasoneTMinputpin,withthelabelTCKn.TheTM

inputpin,isessentiallyaclocksourcefortheTMandisselectedusingtheTnCK2~TnCK0bitsin

theTMnC0register.ThisexternalTMinputpinallowsanexternalclocksourcetodrivetheinternal

TM.ThisexternalTMinputpinissharedwithotherfunctionsbutwillbeconnectedtotheinternal

TMifselectedusingtheTnCK2~TnCK0bits.TheTMinputpincanbechosentohaveeithera

risingorfallingactiveedge.

TheTMseachhaveoneortwooutputpins.WhentheTMisintheCompareMatchOutputMode,

thesepinscanbecontrolledbytheTMtoswitchtoahighorlowlevelortotogglewhenacompare

matchsituationoccurs.TheexternalTPnoutputpinisalsothepinwheretheTMgeneratesthe

PWMoutputwaveform.AstheTMoutputpinsarepin-sharedwithotherfunction,theTMoutput

functionmustfirstbesetupusingregisters.Asinglebitinoneoftheregistersdeterminesifits

associatedpinistobeusedasanexternalTMoutputpinorifitistohaveanotherfunction.The

numberofoutputpinsforeachTMtypeisdifferent,thedetailsareprovidedintheaccompanying

table.

STMandPTMoutputpinnameshavean“_n”suffix.Pinnamesthatincludea“_0”or“_1”suffix

indicatethattheyarefromaTMwithmultipleoutputpins.ThisallowstheTMtogeneratea

complimentaryoutputpair,selectedusingtheI/Oregisterdatabits.
