PrJ | Page 28 of 32 APPLICATIONS Car Battery and Infotainment System Supply Monitoring The AD5100 has two high-voltage monitoring inputs with shutdown and reset controls over external devices. For example, the V1MON and V2MON can be used to monitor the signals from a car battery and an ignition key in an automobile, respectively. Such application is shown in Figure 25. The shutdown output can be connected to the shutdown pin of an external regulator to prevent false conditions such as a weak battery or overcharging battery by an alternator. The reset output can be used to reset the processor in the event of a hardware or software malfunction. An example of the input and output responses of this circuit is shown in Figure 26. Figure 25.
