WhereacertaininterruptiscontainedwithinaMulti-functioninterrupt,thenwhentheinterrupt serviceroutineisexecuted,asonlytheMulti-functioninterruptrequestflags,MFnF,willbe automaticallycleared,theindividualrequestflagforthefunctionneedstobeclearedbythe applicationprogram. Itisrecommendedthatprogramsdonotusethe“CALL”instructionwithintheinterruptservice subroutine.Interruptsoftenoccurinanunpredictablemannerorneedtobeservicedimmediately. Ifonlyonestackisleftandtheinterruptisnotwellcontrolled,theoriginalcontrolsequencewillbe damagedonceaCALLsubroutineisexecutedintheinterruptsubroutine. EveryinterrupthasthecapabilityofwakingupthemicrocontrollerwhenitisinSLEEPorIDLE Mode,thewakeupbeinggeneratedwhentheinterruptrequestflagchangesfromlowtohigh.Ifitis requiredtopreventacertaininterruptfromwakingupthemicrocontrollerthenitsrespectiverequest flagshouldbefirstsethighbeforeenterSLEEPorIDLEMode. AsonlytheProgramCounterispushedontothestack,thenwhentheinterruptisserviced,ifthe contentsoftheaccumulator,statusregisterorotherregistersarealteredbytheinterruptservice program,theircontentsshouldbesavedtothememoryatthebeginningoftheinterruptservice routine. Toreturnfromaninterruptsubroutine,eitheraRETorRETIinstructionmaybeexecuted.TheRETI instructioninadditiontoexecutingareturntothemainprogramalsoautomaticallysetstheEMI bithightoallowfurtherinterrupts.TheRETinstructionhoweveronlyexecutesareturntothemain programleavingtheEMIbitinitspresentzerostateandthereforedisablingtheexecutionoffurther interrupts. Low Voltage Detector – LVD EachdevicehasaLowVoltageDetectorfunction,alsoknownasLVD.Thisenablesthedeviceto monitorthepowersupplyvoltage,VDD,andprovidesawarningsignalshoulditfallbelowacertain level.Thisfunctionmaybeespeciallyusefulinbatteryapplicationswherethesupplyvoltagewill graduallyreduceasthebatteryages,asitallowsanearlywarningbatterylowsignaltobegenerated. TheLowVoltageDetectoralsohasthecapabilityofgeneratinganinterruptsignal. LVD Register TheLowVoltageDetectorfunctioniscontrolledusingasingleregisterwiththenameLVDC.Three bitsinthisregister,VLVD2~VLVD0,areusedtoselectoneofeightfixedvoltagesbelowwhich alowvoltageconditionwillbedetermined.AlowvoltageconditionisindicatedwhentheLVDO bitisset.IftheLVDObitislow,thisindicatesthattheVDDvoltageisabovethepresetlowvoltage value.TheLVDENbitisusedtocontroltheoverallon/offfunctionofthelowvoltagedetector. Settingthebithighwillenablethelowvoltagedetector.Clearingthebittozerowillswitchoffthe internallowvoltagedetectorcircuits.Asthelowvoltagedetectorwillconsumeacertainamountof power,itmaybedesirabletoswitchoffthecircuitwhennotinuse,animportantconsiderationin powersensitivebatterypoweredapplications. |
