ThepurposeoftheTimeBaseInterruptistoprovideaninterruptsignalatfixedtimeperiods.Its clocksource,fTB,originatesfromtheinternalclocksourcefSUBorfSYS/4.Andthenpassesthrough adivider,thedivisionratioofwhichisselectedbyprogrammingtheappropriatebitsintheTBC registertoobtainlongerinterruptperiodswhosevalueranges.Theclocksourcewhichinturn controlstheTimeBaseinterruptperiodisselectedusingabitintheTBCregister.
