Operating Mode Description CPU fSYS fSUB fTBC �ORMAL Mode On fH~fH/64 On On SLOW Mode On fSUB On On IDLE0 Mode Off Off On On IDLE1 Mode Off On On On SLEEP0 Mode Off Off Off Off SLEEP1 Mode Off Off On Off NORMAL Mode Asthenamesuggeststhisisoneofthemainoperatingmodeswherethemicrocontrollerhasallof itsfunctionsoperationalandwherethesystemclockisprovidedbyoneofthehighspeedoscillators. Thismodeoperatesallowingthemicrocontrollertooperatenormallywithaclocksourcewillcome fromthehighspeedoscillatorHIRC/HXT.Thehighspeedoscillatorwillhoweverfirstbedivided byaratiorangingfrom1to64,theactualratiobeingselectedbytheCKS2~CKS0andHLCLK bitsintheSMODregister.Althoughahighspeedoscillatorisused,runningthemicrocontrollerata dividedclockratioreducestheoperatingcurrent. SLOW Mode Thisisalsoamodewherethemicrocontrolleroperatesnormallyalthoughnowwithaslowerspeed clocksource.Theclocksourceusedwillbefromoneofthelowspeedoscillators,eithertheLXT ortheLIRC.Runningthemicrocontrollerinthismodeallowsittorunwithmuchloweroperating currents.IntheSLOWMode,thefHisoff. SLEEP0 Mode TheSLEEPModeisenteredwhenanHALTinstructionisexecutedandwhentheIDLENbitinthe SMODregisterislow.IntheSLEEP0modetheCPUwillbestopped,andthefSUBclockwillbe stoppedtoo,andtheWatchdogTimerfunctionisdisabled.Inthismode,theLVDENismustsetto“0”. IftheLVDENissetto“1”,itwon’tentertheSLEEP0Mode. SLEEP1 Mode TheSLEEPModeisenteredwhenanHALTinstructionisexecutedandwhentheIDLENbitinthe SMODregisterislow.IntheSLEEP1modetheCPUwillbestopped.HoweverthefSUBclockwill continuetooperateiftheLVDENis“1”ortheWatchdogTimerfunctionisenabled. IDLE0 Mode TheIDLE0ModeisenteredwhenaHALTinstructionisexecutedandwhentheIDLENbitinthe SMODregisterishighandtheFSYSONbitintheCTRLregisterislow.IntheIDLE0Modethe systemoscillatorwillbeinhibitedfromdrivingtheCPU,thesystemoscillatorwillbestopped,the lowfrequencyclockfSUBwillbeon. |
