SPI products In SPI products, a specific instruction (Read Status Register - RDSR) is used to check the status of the WIP (Write In Progress) bit in the Status Register. A loop on the RDSR command (RDSR instruction + Data byte) checks the WIP bit status. As soon as it returns to "0", the device is ready to accept new commands.
