The following registers are used to control the

operation of the ADC.

W = Writable bit

U = Unimplemented bit, read as ‘0’

u = Bit is unchanged

x = Bit is unknown

-n/n = Value at POR and BOR/Value at all other Resets

‘1’ = Bit is set

‘0’ = Bit is cleared

GO/DONE:

A/D Conversion Status bit

If ADON = 1:

= A/D conversion in progress (Setting this bit starts the A/D conversion)

= A/D conversion not in progress (This bit is automatically cleared by hardware when the A/D con-

version is complete.)

If this bit is cleared while a conversion is in progress, the conversion will stop and the results of the

conversion up to this point will be transferred to the result registers, but the ADIF interrupt flag bit will

not be set.

If ADON = 0:

= A/D conversion not in progress

bit 0

ADON:

ADC Enable bit

= ADC is enabled

= ADC is disabled and consumes no operating current
