Performance Verification
These procedures verify the TDS 310, TDS 320, and TDS 350 two channel
oscilloscopes. Depending on what you want to accomplish, you may only
need to perform a few of these procedures.
H To rapidly confirm that this oscilloscope functions, just do the procedures
under Self Tests, which begin on page 65.
Advantages: These procedures are quick to do, require no external
equipment or signal sources, and perform extensive functional and
accuracy testing to provide high confidence that the oscilloscope per
forms properly. You can use them as a quick check before making a
series of important measurements.
H To further check functionality, do the procedures under Functional Tests
that begin on page 67.
Advantages: These procedures require minimal additional time to per
form, require no additional equipment other than a standardaccessory
probe, and more completely test the internal hardware of this oscillo
scope. You can use them to quickly determine if the oscilloscope is
suitable for putting into service, suchas when it is first received.
H If you need a more extensive confirmation of performance, do the Perfor
mance Tests, beginning on page 611, after doing the Functional and Self
Tests just referenced.
Advantages: These procedures add direct checking of warranted specifi
cations. They require more time and suitable test equipment. (See Equip
ment Required on page 63.)

H Refer to Figure 61: Main menu" refers to the menu that labels the seven
menu buttons under the display. Side menu" refers to the menu that
labels the five buttons to the right of the display. Popup menu" refers to
a menu that pops up when a main menu button is pressed.
