Flash Program Memory

TheProgramMemoryisthelocationwheretheusercodeorprogramisstored.Forthedeviceseries

theProgramMemoryareFlashtype,whichmeansitcanbeprogrammedandre-programmeda

largenumberoftimes,allowingtheusertheconvenienceofcodemodificationonthesamedevice.

Byusingtheappropriateprogrammingtools,theseFlashdevicesofferuserstheflexibilityto

convenientlydebuganddeveloptheirapplicationswhilealsoofferingameansoffieldprogramming

andupdating.

Structure

TheProgramMemoryhasacapacityof0.5K×16bitsor1K×16bits.TheProgramMemoryis

addressedbytheProgramCounterandalsocontainsdata,tableinformationandinterruptentries.

Tabledata,whichcanbesetupinanylocationwithintheProgramMemory,isaddressedbya

separatetablepointerregister.

Program Memory Structure

Special Vectors

WithintheProgramMemory,certainlocationsarereservedfortheresetandinterrupts.Thelocation

000Hisreservedforusebythesedevicesresetforprograminitialisation.Afteradeviceresetis

initiated,theprogramwilljumptothislocationandbeginexecution.

Look-up Table

AnylocationwithintheProgramMemorycanbedefinedasalook-uptablewhereprogrammerscan

storefixeddata.Tousethelook-uptable,thetablepointermustfirstbesetupbyplacingtheaddress

ofthelookupdatatoberetrievedinthetablepointerregister,TBLPandTBHP.Theseregisters

definethetotaladdressofthelook-uptable.

Aftersettingupthetablepointer,thetabledatacanberetrievedfromtheProgramMemoryusing

the"TABRD[m]"or"TABRDL[m]"instructions,respectively.Whentheinstructionisexecuted,

thelowerordertablebytefromtheProgramMemorywillbetransferredtotheuserdefined

DataMemoryregister[m]asspecifiedintheinstruction.Thehigherordertabledatabytefrom

theProgramMemorywillbetransferredtotheTBLHspecialregister.Anyunusedbitsinthis

transferredhigherorderbytewillbereadas“0”.
