83 / 102 page  APPLICATION NOTE HAL8xy, HAL100x Programmer Board Micronas Sept. 19, 2013; APN000046_03EN 83 7. Operation Mode 3 HAL856 This operation mode is set by sending the “j3” command. Note: The HAL856 is a two-wire device. It is programmed by modulating the supply voltage, and it responds by modulating its current consumption. In order to detect the current levels of the sensor, the Hall Programmer Board V 5.1 mea- sures the sensor’s supply current. Hence, only one HAL856 can be connected to the board. Communication: PC prog. board Section 7.1 and Section 7.2 contain a detailed description of communication between the PC and the programmer board V 5.1. Particularly, all board commands available in the operation mode “j3” are listed. Communication: prog. board sensor The communication between the programmer board and the Hall sensor is described in Section 7.3 Data formats The data formats for communication between both the PC and the board, and the board and the sensor are summarized in Section 7.4 Programming procedure Finally, Section 7.5 depicts the programming procedure and gives an example of a complete programming sequence. |
