Functional description

3.1

Software interface

This section describes the software interface of the device. The host customer application controls the VL53L8CH

using an application programming interface (API). The API implementation is delivered to the customer as a driver

(C code and reference Linux® driver). The driver provides the customer application with a set of high level

functions that allow control of the VL53L8CH firmware. This includes control of items such as device initialization,

ranging start/stop, and mode select.
