EEPROM Data Memory Structure TheEEPROMDataMemorycapacityis128×8bits.UnliketheProgramMemoryandRAMData Memory,theEEPROMDataMemoryisnotdirectlymappedintomemoryspaceandisthereforenot directlyaddressableinthesamewayastheothertypesofmemory.ReadandWriteoperationstothe EEPROMarecarriedoutinsinglebyteoperationsusinganaddressanddataregisterinBank0and asinglecontrolregisterinBank1. EEPROM Registers ThreeregisterscontroltheoveralloperationoftheinternalEEPROMDataMemory.Thesearethe addressregister,EEA,thedataregister,EEDandasinglecontrolregister,EEC.AsboththeEEA andEEDregistersarelocatedinBank0,theycanbedirectlyaccessedinthesamewasasanyother SpecialFunctionRegister.TheEECregisterhowever,beinglocatedinBank1,cannotbeaddressed directlyandcanonlybereadfromorwrittentoindirectlyusingtheMP1MemoryPointerand IndirectAddressingRegister,IAR1.BecausetheEECcontrolregisterislocatedataddress40Hin Bank1,theMP1MemoryPointermustfirstbesettothevalue40HandtheBankPointerregister, BP,settothevalue,01H,beforeanyoperationsontheEECregisterareexecuted.
