After program execution starts, an 8-bit or 16-bit address space can be set for each area, depending on the bus controller setting. If 16-bit access is selected for any one area, 16-bit bus mode is set; if 8-bit access is selected for all areas, 8-bit bus mode is set. Note that the functions of each pin depend on the operating mode. The H8S/2245 Group can be used only in modes 1 to 7. This means that the mode pins must be set to select one of these modes. Do not change the inputs at the mode pins during operation. 3.1.2 Register Configuration The H8S/2245 Group has a mode control register (MDCR) that indicates the inputs at the mode pins (MD 2 to MD0), and a system control register (SYSCR) that controls the operation of the H8S/2245 Group. Table 3.2 summarizes these registers.
