Data Memory Addressing

Forthedevicethatsupportstheextendedinstructions,thereisnoBankPointerforDataMemory.

ForDataMemorythedesiredSectorispointedbytheMP1HorMP2Hregisterandthecertain

DataMemoryaddressintheselectedsectorisspecifiedbytheMP1LorMP2Lregisterwhenusing

indirectaddressingaccess.

DirectAddressingcanbeusedinallsectorsusingthecorrespondinginstructionwhichcanaddress

allavailabledatamemoryspace.Fortheaccesseddatamemorywhichislocatedinanydata

memorysectorsexceptsector0,theextendedinstructionscanbeusedtoaccessthedatamemory

insteadofusingtheindirectaddressingaccess.Themaindifferencebetweenstandardinstructions

andextendedinstructionsisthatthedatamemoryaddress"m"intheextendedinstructionshas10

validbits,thehighbyteindicatesasectorandthelowbyteindicatesaspecificaddress.

This area of Data Memory is where registers, necessary for the correct operation of the

microcontroller,arestored.Mostoftheregistersarebothreadableandwriteablebutsomeare

protectedandarereadableonly,thedetailsofwhicharelocatedundertherelevantSpecialFunction

Registersection.Notethatforlocationsthatareunused,anyreadinstructiontotheseaddresseswill
