TO INSPECT AND CLEAN THE SPARK ARRESTOR:
1. Remove the left maintenance cover, then
loosen the jubilee clip holding the arrestor
cover in place and remove the arrestor
from its housing.
2. Use a brush to remove carbon deposits
from the spark arrestor screen. Be careful
to avoid damaging the screen. The spark
arrestor must be free of breaks and tears.
Replace the spark arrestor if it is damaged.
3. Install the spark arrestor in the reverse
order of removal.
4.
DRAINING THE FUEL TANK/CARBURETTOR
To help prevent gum deposits in the fuel system, drain the fuel from the tank and
carburettor before storing.
TO DRAIN THE FUEL TANK & CARBURETTOR:
1. With the help of another person, place the generator on an elevated platform such
as a table or workbench.
TO DRAIN THE FUEL TANK
1. Remove the fuel tank cap and fuel strainer.
2. Using a petrol hand pump, empty the fuel tank into an approved petrol container.
Siphon the petrol by inserting the tip of the pump into the side of the pump guard.
NOTE: DO NOT use an electric pump
3. Reinstall the fuel strainer and replace the fuel tank cap.
