32 / 111 page ![]() NXP Semiconductors FS5600 Automotive buck regulator and controller with voltage monitors and watchdog timer A frequency watchdog monitors the external clock at the SYNCIN pin. If the external clock is not present or invalid, the device automatically switches to the internal clock. The device switches back to the external clock if the frequency watchdog detects a valid input. When the external clock is selected, the switching regulators should be set in PWM mode at the application level to ensure clock synchronization. 14.6 SYNCOUT function settings The GPIO2 pin may be configured as SYNCOUT via OTP by setting OTP_GPIO2_CFG[1:0] = 0b10. When configured as SYNCOUT, GPIO2 outputs the clock that the SW1 regulator uses (in terms of phasing and frequency) in a push-pull mode railing to VDDIO and ground. 15 I/O Pins in FS5600 The FS5600 has several I/O pins for system control and monitoring. These are described in Section 15.1 through Section 15.6. Parametric requirements for all the IO's are summarized in Section 15.1. 15.1 I/O pins electrical specifications All parameters are specified at TA = –40 °C to 125 °C, VIN = 12 V, typical external component values, unless otherwise noted.
