Communication from Reader/Writer to Transponder (1) Modulation method The MB89R112 supports both 10 ASK modulation and 100% ASK modulation. Modulation index m is defined as m = (a - b)/(a + b) with reference to the modulated waveform shown below. The values a and b indicate, respectively, the maximum and minimum amplitude of magnetic field transmitted from a reader/writer. Maximum and minimum values of t1, t2, t3 and t4 are shown in the table of “ RECOMMENDED OPERATING CONDITIONS”.
