Programming Considerations

ThehighspeedandlowspeedoscillatorsbothusethesameSSTcounter.Forexample,ifthesystem

iswokenupfromtheSLEEP0ModeandboththeHIRCandLXToscillatorsneedtostart-upfrom

anoffstate.TheLXToscillatorusestheSSTcounterafterHIRCoscillatorhasfinisheditsSST

period.

• IfthedeviceiswokenupfromtheSLEEP0ModetotheFASTMode,thehighspeedsystem

oscillatorneedsanSSTperiod.ThedevicewillexecutefirstinstructionafterHTOis"1".Atthis

time,theLXToscillatormaynotbestabilityiffSUBisfromLXToscillator.Thesamesituation

occursinthepower-onstate.TheLXToscillatorisnotreadyyetwhenthefirstinstructionis

executed.

• IfthedeviceiswokenupfromtheSLEEP1ModetoFASTMode,andthesystemclocksourceis

fromHXToscillatorandFSTENis"1",thesystemclockcanbeswitchedtotheLIRCoscillator

afterwakeup.

• Thereareperipheralfunctions,suchasWDTandTMs,forwhichthefSYSisused.Ifthesystem

clocksourceisswitchedfromfHtofSUB,theclocksourcetotheperipheralfunctionsmentioned

abovewillchangeaccordingly.

• Theon/offconditionoffSUBandfSdependsuponwhethertheWDTisenabledordisabledasthe

WDTclocksourceisselectedfromfS.
