Entering the SLEEP1 Mode

ThereisonlyonewayforthedevicetoentertheSLEEP1Modeandthatistoexecutethe“HALT”

instructionintheapplicationprogramwiththeIDLENbitintheSMODregisterequalto“0”andthe

WDTison.Whenthisinstructionisexecutedundertheconditionsdescribedabove,thefollowing

willoccur:

• ThesystemclockandTimeBaseclockwillbestoppedandtheapplicationprogramwillstopat

the"HALT"instruction.However,theWDTclockwillcontinuetorun.

• TheDataMemorycontentsandregisterswillmaintaintheirpresentcondition.

• TheI/Oportswillmaintaintheirpresentconditions.

• Inthestatusregister,thePowerDownflagPDFwillbeset,andWDTtimeoutflagTOwillbe

cleared.

• TheWDTwillbeclearedandresumecountingastheWDTisenabled.

Entering the IDLE0 Mode

ThereisonlyonewayforthedevicetoentertheIDLE0Modeandthatistoexecutethe“HALT”

instructionintheapplicationprogramwiththeIDLENbitintheSMODEregisterequalto“1”and

theFSYSONbitintheSMOD1registerequalto“0”.Whenthisinstructionisexecutedunderthe

conditionsdescribedabove,thefollowingwilloccur:

• Thesystemclockwillbestoppedandtheapplicationprogramwillstopatthe“HALT”

instruction,buttheTimeBaseclockwillbeon.

• TheDataMemorycontentsandregisterswillmaintaintheirpresentcondition.

• TheI/Oportswillmaintaintheirpresentconditions.

• Inthestatusregister,thePowerDownflagPDFwillbeset,andWDTtimeoutflagTOwillbe

cleared.

• TheWDTwillbeclearedandresumecountingiftheWDTfunctionisenabled.
