Therearetwocommandsavailableforprogramsuspend.ThelegacycombinedErase/Programsuspend

command(B0hcommandcode)andtheseparateProgramSuspendcommand(51hcommandcode).There

arealsotwocommandsforProgramresume.ThelegacycombinedErase/Programresumecommand(30h

commandcode)andtheseparateProgramResumecommand(50hcommandcode).Itisrecommendedto

usetheseparateprogramsuspendandresumecommandsforprogrammingandusethelegacycombined

commandonlyforerasesuspendandresume.

Blank Check

TheBlankCheckcommandwillconfirmiftheselectedmainflasharraysectoriserased.TheBlankCheck

commanddoesnotallowforreadstothearrayduringtheBlankCheck.Readstothearraywhilethiscommand

isexecutingwillreturnunknowndata.

5.3.4

Erase Methods

5.3.4.1

Chip Erase

ThechiperasefunctionerasestheentiremainFlashMemoryArray.Thedevicedoesnotrequirethesystem

topreprogrampriortoerase.TheEmbeddedErasealgorithmautomaticallyprogramsandverifiestheentire

memoryforanall0datapatternpriortoelectricalerase.Afterasuccessfulchiperase,alllocationswithinthe

devicecontainFFFFh.Thesystemisnotrequiredtoprovideanycontrolsortimingsduringtheseoperations.

Thechiperasecommandsequenceisinitiatedbywritingtwounlockcycles,followedbyasetupcommand.

Twoadditionalunlockwritecyclesarethenfollowedbythechiperasecommand,whichinturninvokesthe

EmbeddedErasealgorithm.WhenWE#goeshigh,attheendofthe6thcycle,theRY/BY#goeslow.

Sector Erase

Thesectorerasefunctionerasesonesectorinthememoryarray.Thedevicedoesnotrequirethesystem

topreprogrampriortoerase.TheEmbeddedErasealgorithmautomaticallyprogramsandverifiestheentire

sectorforanall0datapatternpriortoelectricalerase.Afterasuccessfulsectorerase,alllocationswithin

theerasedsectorcontainFFFFh.Thesystemisnotrequiredtoprovideanycontrolsortimingsduringthese

operations.Thesectorerasecommandsequenceisinitiatedbywritingtwounlockcycles,followedbyasetup

command.Twoadditionalunlockwritecyclesarethenfollowedbytheaddressofthesectortobeerased,and

thesectorerasecommand.WhenWE#goeshigh,attheendofthe6thcycle,theRY/BY#goeslow.
