Typically the peak-to-peak inductor current
ΔI is selected to be approximately between 20% and 40% of the rated
output current. In this design, IRIPPLE is targeted at around 30% of the load current. Using Equation 2.
Therefore, an inductor value of 1.5
µH is selected in practical, and the inductor ripple current is 3.08 A.
Minimum capacitance value can be calculated according to the demand of the load transient response.
Considering 0-A to 10-A step load and 10% overshoot and undershoot, the output capacitance value can be
estimated by using Equation 6,
A 470-
µF POS-CAP with 18-mΩ ESR and a 47-µF ceramic capacitor are paralleled for the output capacitor.
