5.3

ICC Add-on

The ICC Add-on is the hardware link between your ST Micro Connect box and the the ST7

on your application board. It connects to the ST Micro Connect box via the 26-pin ‘Ext Link’

connection on the front panel, and plugs directly into your application board by way of a

standard HE10 connector.

5.3.1

Voltage selector

You have designed your application to use either 3.3 or 5 V as the signal voltage for your

ICC Add-on. The voltage selector switch on the ICC Add-on must be set to the voltage you

selected when designing your application. The selector switch is located on the top of the

ICC Add-on’s board (see Figure 26).

Set the voltage of the ICC Add-on by switching the voltage selector switch to the appropriate

voltage as shown in Figure 26, below:

5.4

Sharing ST Micro Connect with ICC Add-on and EMU3 probe

Your ST Micro Connect box is the main component for using both the ICC Add-on for in-

circuit communication and the ST7-EMU3 series probes for emulation.

You can use the same ST Micro Connect box in both cases if you follow these guidelines:

Only use one connection at a time, either the ICC Add-on or the

EMU3 probe.

●

When switching from the ICC Add-on to the EMU3 probe, follow the procedure below.

Switching from ICC Add-on configuration to EMU3 probe configuration

Switch off the application board.

Switch off the ST Micro Connect box.

Unplug the ICC cable from the HE10 connector on your application board.

Remove the ST7 and connect the EMU3 probe to the application board socket.

Switch on the ST Micro Connect box.

Switch on the application board.
