4) IFB and VFB are sensitive. Make the

compensation components between FB and

COMP close to the pins.

5) The PCB should have a ground plane

connected directly to the return of all components

through vias (two vias per capacitor for power-

stage capacitors, one via per capacitor for small-

signal

components).

If

possible,

it

is

recommended to place vias inside the PGND

pads. Typically, a star-ground design approach is

used to keep circuit-block currents isolated (high-

power/low-power, small-signal), which reduces

noise-coupling and ground-bounce issues.

6) A single ground plane for this design produces

good results. With the small layout and single

ground plane, ground-bounce is not an issue.

The segregated components minimize coupling

between signals.
