It is optimized for power bank and battery backup systems. The ACT2823 operates in three modes: charge mode, discharge mode and HZ mode. It charges dual Li-Ion batteries from a USB input while also delivering power to the load. Automatic power path control always gives priority to the load. When the USB input is not present, the ACT2823 powers the load at 5.07V from the batteries. The cycle- by-cycle peak current mode control, constant current regulation, short circuit protection and over voltage protection maximize safe operation. ACT2823’s HZ mode minimizes the batteries current drain to less than 10µA to help maintain fully charged batteries for products with long storage, shipping, and shelf life. ACT2823 provides 4 LED drive pins for battery capacity level and charge status indication to indicate 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% battery charge levels. Multiple LED indications patterns are programmable. ACT2823 is available in a thermally enhanced 5mmx5mm QFN55-40 package with exposed pad.
