Operation Mode Description CPU fSYS fLIRC/fTBC N�RMAL Mode �n fH~fH/64 �n SL�W Mode �n fL �n IDLE0 Mode �ff �ff �n IDLE1 Mode �ff �n �n SLEEP0 Mode �ff �ff �ff SLEEP1 Mode �ff �ff �n • NORMALMode Asthenamesuggeststhisisoneofthemainoperatingmodeswherethemicrocontrollerhas allofitsfunctionsoperationalandwherethesystemclockisprovidedbyoneofthehighspeed oscillators.Thismodeoperatesallowingthemicrocontrollertooperatenormallywithaclock sourcewillcomefromoneofthehighspeedoscillators,eithertheHXTorHIRCoscillators. Thehighspeedoscillatorwillhoweverfirstbedividedbyaratiorangingfrom1to64,theactual ratiobeingselectedbytheCKS2~CKS0andHLCLKbitsintheSMODregister.Althoughahigh speedoscillatorisused,runningthemicrocontrolleratadividedclockratioreducestheoperating current. • SLOWMode Thisisalsoamodewherethemicrocontrolleroperatesnormallyalthoughnowwithaslower speedclocksource.Theclocksourceusedwillbefromthelowspeedoscillator,namelyLIRC. Runningthemicrocontrollerinthismodeallowsittorunwithmuchloweroperatingcurrents.In theSLOWMode,fHisoff. • SLEEP0Mode TheSLEEPModeisenteredwhenaHALTinstructionisexecutedandwhentheIDLENbitin theSMODregisterislow.IntheSLEEP0modetheCPUwillbestopped,andthefLIRCclockwill bestoppedtoo,andtheWatchdogTimerfunctionisdisabled. • SLEEP1Mode TheSLEEPModeisenteredwhenanHALTinstructionisexecutedandwhenthebit,IDLEN, intheSMODregisterislow.IntheSLEEP1modetheCPUwillbestopped.HoweverthefLIRC clockwillcontinuetooperateiftheWatchdogTimerisenabled. • IDLE0Mode TheIDLE0ModeisenteredwhenaHALTinstructionisexecutedandwhentheIDLENbitin theSMODregisterishighandtheFSYSONbitintheCTRLregisterislow.IntheIDLE0Mode thesystemoscillatorwillbeinhibitedfromdrivingtheCPUbutsomeperipheralfunctionswill remainoperationalsuchastheTimeBaseandTMs.IntheIDLE0Mode,thesystemoscillator willbestopped. |
