TheDataMemoryisavolatileareaof8-bitwideRAMinternalmemoryandisthelocationwhere

temporaryinformationisstored.

Categorizedintotwotypes,thefirstoftheseisanareaofRAMwherespecialfunctionregistersare

located.Theseregistershavefixedlocationsandarenecessaryforcorrectoperationofthedevice.

Manyoftheseregisterscanbereadfromandwrittentodirectlyunderprogramcontrol,however,

someremainprotectedfromusermanipulation.ThesecondareaofDataMemoryisreservedfor

generalpurposeuse.Alllocationswithinthisareaarereadandwriteaccessibleunderprogram

control.

Structure

TheoverallDataMemoryissubdividedintoseveralsectors,allofwhichareimplementedin8-bit

wideRAM.EachoftheDataMemorySectoriscategorizedintotwotypes,thespecialPurpose

DataMemoryandtheGeneralPurposeDataMemory.TheSpecialPurposeDataMemoryregisters

areaccessibleinallsectors,withtheexceptionoftheEECregisterataddress40H,whichisonly

accessibleinsector1.SwitchingbetweenthedifferentDataMemorysectorsisachievedbysetting

theMemoryPointerstothecorrectvalue.ThestartaddressoftheDataMemoryistheaddress00H.
