While in the CBC encryption, having a chaining structure, each block of plaintext is XORed

with the previous ciphertext block before encryption. In this way, each ciphertext block is

independent on all plaintext block processed up to that point. To make each message

unique, an initialization vector (IV) must be used in the first block.
