Blinking Function

Thedevicecontainsversatileblinkingcapabilities.

Thewholedisplaycanbeblinkedatfrequencies

selectedbytheBlinkingFrequencycommand.The

blinkingfrequencyisasubdividedratioofthesystem

frequency.Theratiobetweenthesystemoscillator

andblinkingfrequenciesdependsontheblinking

modeinwhichthedeviceisoperating,asshownin

thefollowingtable:

I2C Operation

ThedevicesupportsI2Cserialinterface.TheI2Cbus

isforbidirectional,two-linecommunicationbetween

differentICsormodules.Thetwolinesareaserial

dataline,SDA,andaserialclockline,SCL.Both

linesareconnectedtothepositivesupplyviapull-up

resistors.Whenthebusisfree,bothlinesarehigh.

Devicesconnectedtothebusmusthaveopen-drain

oropen-collectoroutputstoimplementawired-or

function.Datatransferisinitiatedonlywhenthebus

isnotbusy.

Data Validity

ThedataontheSDAlinemustbestableduringthe

highperiodoftheserialclock.Thehighorlowstate

ofthedatalinecanonlychangewhentheclocksignal

ontheSCLlineisLowasshowninthediagram.

ishighdefinesaSTARTcondition.

bythemaster.Thebusisconsideredtobebusy

aftertheSTARTcondition.Thebusisconsidered

tobefreeagainacertaintimeaftertheSTOP

condition.

• ThebusstaysbusyifarepeatedSTART(Sr)is

generatedinsteadofaSTOPcondition.Insome

respects,theSTART(S)andrepeatedSTART(Sr)

conditionsarefunctionallyidentical.
