General Description

TheHT7938Aishighefficiencyboostconverterwith

constantcurrentoutputforbacklightapplicationsin

handhelddevices.UsingaseriesconnectionofLEDs

providesconstantidenticalLEDcurrentsresultingin

uniformbrightness.ThecontinuousLEDcurrentis

setusingthedeviceFBpinregulatedvoltageacross

anexternalsenseresistor,RFB,connectedbetweenthis

pinandground.Theintegratedopenloadprotection

featurepreventsdevicedamageresultingfromopen

circuit load conditions.A low 300mV feedback

voltageminimisespowerlossesinthecurrentsetting

resistorwhichprovidesenhancedefficiency.The

HT7938Ahasadimmingfrequencyofupto200kHz,

whichhasexcellentlinearperformanceoverthis

dimmingfrequencyrange.Thedeviceswitchesat

ratesofupto1.2MHztoallowtheuseofextremely

smallinductorsandfiltercapacitors.
