Afterpoweron,theLXTLPbitwillbeautomaticallyclearedtozeroensuringthattheLXToscillator

isintheQuickStartoperatingmode.IntheQuickStartModetheLXToscillatorwillpowerup

andstabilisequickly.However,aftertheLXToscillatorhasfullypoweredupitcanbeplaced

intotheLow-powermodebysettingtheLXTLPbithigh.Theoscillatorwillcontinuetorunbut

withreducedcurrentconsumption,asthehighercurrentconsumptionisonlyrequiredduringthe

LXToscillatorstart-up.Inpowersensitiveapplications,suchasbatteryapplications,wherepower

consumptionmustbekepttoaminimum,itisthereforerecommendedthattheapplicationprogram

setstheLXTLPbithighabout2secondsafterpower-on.

ItshouldbenotedthatnomatterwhatconditiontheLXTLPbitissetto,theLXToscillatorwill

alwaysfunctionnormally,theonlydifferenceisthatitwilltakemoretimetostartupifintheLow-

powermode.

Supplementary Oscillator

Thelowspeedoscillator,inadditiontoprovidingasystemclocksource,isalsousedtoprovidea

clocksourcetotheTimeBaseInterruptsfunction.
