WhentheTimer/Eventcounteroverflows,itscorrespondinginterruptrequestflagintheinterrupt

controlregisterwillbeset.Ifthetimerinterruptisenabledthiswillinturngenerateaninterrupt

signal.Howeverirrespectiveofwhethertheinterruptsareenabledornot,aTimer/Eventcounter

overflowwillalsogenerateawake-upsignalifthedeviceisinaPower-downcondition.This

situationmayoccuriftheTimer/EventCounterisintheEventCountingModeandiftheexternal

signalcontinuestochangestate.Insuchacase,theTimer/EventCounterwillcontinuetocount

theseexternaleventsandifanoverflowoccursthedevicewillbewokenupfromitsPower-down

condition.Topreventsuchawake-upfromoccurring,thetimerinterruptrequestflagshouldfirstbe

sethighbeforeissuingthe"HALT"instructiontoenterthePowerDownMode.

Timer Program Example

ThisprogramexampleshowshowtheTimer/EventCounterregistersaresetup,alongwithhowthe

interruptsareenabledandmanaged.NotehowtheTimer/EventCounteristurnedon,bysetting

bit4oftheTimerControlRegister.TheTimer/EventCountercanbeturnedoffinasimilarwayby

clearingthesamebit.ThisexampleprogramsetstheTimer/EventCountertobeinthetimermode,

whichusestheinternalsystemclockastheclocksource.
