Introduction

The 1042 is a compact, robust and precision

decade resistance box and will find many

applications in both industry and education. The

1042 is particularly suitable for simulation of

platinum resistance thermometers.

Special attention has been given to the problem

of reliability of operation. A special multiple gold

contact arrangement ensures low contact resis-

tance and continued operation even if a contact

should fail.

To prevent misreading, the 1042 incorporates a

unique colour coding system to divide the setting

into 2 units, MilliOhms and Ohms.
