Master/ Repeater Mode Activation The SAP5 Master/ Repeater Mode functionality gets enabled by use of the E²PROM flag Master_Mode (refer to Table 9). In order to activate the Master_Mode, an IC Reset (refer to chapter 4.13 on page 42) has to be performed after programming of the E²PROM Master_Mode flag. For distinction between Master- and Repeater Mode the ID_Code may be set to a certain value as described in Table 35. NOTE: The ID_Code has to be programmed before activation of the Master_Mode flag. Once the Master_Mode flag is set to logic HIGH, the slave functionality of the SAP5 is no longer available, preventing any write access to the E²PROM by use of AS-i master requests as described on page 25. Moreover, the Master- and Repeater Mode functionality may be disabled generally by use of a hidden E²PROM flag. This flag is inaccessible by the user, but may be set during the ZMDI production test. Pin Assignment In Master- and Repeater Mode the SAP5 pins are configured as follows. Pins which are not used are kept at logic HIGH (high impedance) state in order to reduce internal power dissipation of the IC.
