Proximity offset values have a range of ±255 and are expressed

as 9-bit two’s-complement values. Only the lower 9 bits are

significant, but the high byte must only be programmed with

values of 0x00 (indicates that the low byte has a positive value)

or 0xFF (indicates that the low byte has a negative value). These

registers are read/write.
